This test detects Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH) by identifying abnormal red blood cells, white blood cells, or platelets that lack certain surface proteins, using flow cytometry. PNH is a rare acquired blood disorder that causes hemolysis (destruction of red blood cells) and increased risk of thrombosis.
